Rotor tester FD series

Device description

The tester is designed for automatic measurement of rotor torque and its rotation angle. Measurement results are presented on the computer screen in the form of a graph: torque vs. rotation angle and digital torque values read for selected intervals of the rotor rotation angle.

The rotor under test is placed in the measuring socket of the tester. The tester forces rotation of the rotor's moving parts. During this rotation the value of the torque and the rotation angle is measured. A special sensor with very high accuracy is used to measure the torque, while the angle of rotation is calculated from the number of "steps" of the stepping motor. To increase the accuracy of determining the rotation angle, the stepper motor has been equipped with a backlash-free gear.

The test starts automatically when the protective cover is closed. When the test is finished, the screen will show the result as "Good" or "Defective". If the result was "Good" you can remove the rotor and insert another one, if the result was "Defective" a window will appear on the monitor screen where you must enter a code to unlock the cover and remove the rotor. START" button is used to repeat the test, "STOP" button is used to stop the test.

The tester is controlled by a computer equipped with a measuring and control card. The card records the analog signal from the torque sensor and simultaneously counts the steps of the stepper motor. The tester computer software provides automatic and manual execution of the test cycle. Manual mode is used during service work. The operator operates the tester using the computer touch screen, keyboard, mouse, and control buttons and indicator lights. During operation of the tester, the operator's activities are limited only to replacement of the rotors under test.
