Carbide Tipping

The process consists in brazing a tip (usually made of tungsten or titanium carbide) into a base material in order to obtain an extremely hard cutting edge. Tips are exposed to wear, so it is important to replace them in a timely manner. The use of carbide allows for longer tool life.

Application is used in:

• saws;
• routing bits;
• lathe bits;
• drills.
