Stabilized yttrium zirconium

This ceramic support material is partially stabilized with 5 mol% yttrium. The base material has a high flexural strength of 800MPa and a high fracture toughness. It will be used when other wear protection materials are no longer sufficient. It is mainly used at high temperatures > 200°C or at extremely high pressures for long periods of time and where polymers tend to creep. Applications include, for example, guide rails or sensor protection plates.
