Technical Information:
Typical Applications
HVR Wirewound and Tubular Resistors are made from a precisely selected mixture of clay, aluminum oxide, and carbon. After mixing, the material is extruded into a specific shape, and then fired under controlled conditions at high temperature.
Subsequently, aluminum is flame-sprayed onto the surface (as standard) to provide an electrical connection.
Alternative metallized connections and corona-screened terminals are available.
Wirewound and Tubular Resistors are available in external diameters from 10 mm to 50 mm and lengths up to 600mm.
With a high energy impact rating and low inductance, typical applications for HVR Wirewound and Tubular Resistors include antenna test loads, surge protection, capacitor discharging, and parasitic elements in network and anode power valve circuits in induction heaters.
