Kemet was founded in 1919 and today, with over 100 years of experience, is a global leader in the production of electrolytic capacitors for industrial applications and solid dielectric capacitors for power electronics applications.

In 2020, Kemet was acquired by Yageo Corporation to create a powerhouse for passive components such as polymer, ceramic, tantalum and electrolytic capacitors, resistors, fuses, as well as sensors, detectors and inductors.

The company's wide product range includes, among others, capacitors, EMC components, inductors, detectors, sensors, piezo devices, relays, varistors, environmental sensors, pulse capacitors, and AC and DC voltage sensors.

The company’s products have a wide variety of applications – from everyday consumer devices to spacecraft and medical defibrillators.

Kemet is also committed to environmental sustainability. In addition, it complies with many international regulations, such as the Conflict Minerals Regulation, which requires EU companies importing tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold to ensure their supply chains do not contribute to armed conflicts.
