Products that are marked "On Order" in the "Available Quantity" column are usually not in stock. Such products are available for purchase, however, due to their limited customer base, they usually have higher minimum quantities. DACPOL offers products that are not in stock for the following reasons: DACPOL currently has a large number of electronic components in stock and adds new products every day, however, tens of thousands of additional components and their various variants are available from our suppliers. Even though it is unreasonable to have all these products in stock due to the limited sales, we believe that it is in the best interest of our customers to make them available. Our goal is to inform customers about the maximum number of products available and enable them to make decisions based on specifications, prices, availability, required minimums and our technical advice. Please note that selecting the "In Stock" checkbox may limit the display to only products available for delivery straight from the shelf.

We're offering a wide assortment of optical sensors for industrial applications - our rich offer includes reflective sensors, color sensors, and optical sensors in various configurations, depending on their purpose.

Optical sensors are used for detecting localization or occurrence of objects and liquids - there's a possibility to choose the sensor for detecting objects based on their size, color, texture, background, detection distance. They are able to detect objects made of metal, wood, carton, glass, plastic, rubber, or foil.

Optical sensors - operation

Optical sensors work based on emitting wide or narrow light beams (visible, infrared, laser).

Optical sensors - application:

  • counting objects e.g. on the production line, storages.
  • measuring and detecting liquids and materials.
  • controlling moving elements of machines.
  • describing liquid level.
  • counting rotations of objects.

Types of optical sensors

We distinguish a few types of optical sensors, including reflective, barrier, optical fiber, micromovements sensors, contrast, color, and also optical curtains (multibeam barriers), I/O sensors, and smart sensors.

Reflection from the object sensors

In this type of sensor, the receiver and transmitter are in one enclosure, and the optics of the receiver and transmitter is located at an angle to each other. They detect objects right after receiving reflected light from the object's surface.

Reflection sensors

They also have a receiver and transmitter in one enclosure. Their advantage is their wide range of detecting objects. They're also quite resistant to disruptions and can detect objects that strongly polarize light e.g. some packages or foils. There are also laser reflective sensors available - mostly used for detecting transparent objects.

Optical fiber sensors

In this type of sensor, the lenses are optical fibers. They're perfect for applications of narrow construction, in elements of claws, or in explosion risk areas, because optical fiber cables only conduct light, and the sensor element can be located outside the area. There are also versions resistant to chemicals, high temperature, and sensors intended for detecting transparent objects or liquid levels.

Contrast sensors - are made for detecting markers. Used for control of printing, foil or paper cutting, carton bending in machines, label cutting, tube placing, detecting stitches, or material ends on rolls.

Luminescence sensors detect markers, which affected by UV reflect light relocated in the infrared spectrum. These markers can be invisible imprints, small lines made with special chalk or markers. This type of sensor is used in packaging, food industry, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, wood industry (for cutting wood, marking defects).

Color sensors

Mostly used when there's a small color difference between the marker and the background, and in applications of detecting objects of a given color or for color segregation. To detect the right object, a color that we want to identify has to be provided.
