Single-phase power converters

In the permanent DACPOL offer of electrical measurement devices we provide a wide range of current transformers, including single-phase power converters with Modbus RTU. Current transformers are beneficial for measuring high voltage – they deliver flawless work and safety of the devices.

- Single-phase power converters S6XM and S9XM can measure voltage up to 300 A AC/DC, working similarly to the current transformers or 1000V.
- Thanks to the Modbus RTU, the measurements can be transmitted with 115200 circuit speed through the RS485 connector.
- Perfect for measurements in OZE, Smart Grid and LED systems due to the possibility to measure THD.
- In triple-phase installation they allow also measurement in the Aron system.

What is a current transformer and how does it work?

Current transformer (or C.T.) is a type of “instrument transformer” - aimed to produce an alternating current in its secondary winding which is proportional to the current being measured in its primary. They reduce high voltage currents to a much lower value, which provides a more convenient and safe way to monitor the actual electrical current flowing in an AC transmission line using a standard ammeter.

We distinguish three main types of current transformers: wound, toroidal and bar.

Current transformer – where to use?

- For proportional change of high voltage to the lower one.
- Used together with ammeters to provide a maximum secondary current corresponding to a full-scale deflection on the ammeter.
- Evaluation by using measuring devices with a narrow scale.
- They allow positioning the devices  in a far distance from the controlled circuit.
