Machine description
The machine is designed to measure voltage classification of medium voltage surge arresters with rated voltage range from 5kV to 51kV. The tests are performed according to the requirements of PN-EN 60099-4 standard as the final tests of the production process on all units of arresters.
The arresters are tested in the HV compartment of the machine, inaccessible to operators, and their replacement is carried out by a turntable equipped with arresters holders controlled by pneumatic cylinders. The spacing between the holders is set automatically by actuators (electrically controlled actuators). During testing of one arrester the operator exchanges the tested arrester for the next one.
The HV test circuit is galvanically isolated from the mechanical structure of the machine. Test voltage and arrester current are measured by measuring cards placed at high potential and digitally transmitted via bidirectional fiber optic links to the panel computer. The information is transmitted between the sub-assemblies using the Ethernet standard. The machine is equipped with its own, network-independent, sinusoidal voltage test source.
The user operates the machine using a touch screen panel computer. The computer screen displays text messages making the operator's work easier, obtained test results and current and voltage waveforms in the form of graphs, as well as diagnostic messages including the visual location of a faulty component. The operation of the machine components is controlled by a PLC.
