ExCam IPP1280 is a thermal imaging network camera for use in explosion hazard zones, offering all the advantages of thermal detection. ExCam IPP1280 is a modular Ex-Network network camera. This means it consists of two units: an ultra-compact sensor (lens and image sensor) and the main unit (network, power, and memory card slot). The ExCam series is certified according to European (ATEX) and international (IECEx) regulations. These certificates and other documents can be found in the download area on the manufacturer's website.
Features of ExCam IPP1280 - Thermal Imaging Camera for EX Zones
In addition to European regulations (ATEX), the ExCam series is also certified according to international regulations (IECEx). The enclosure certification covers ATEX group II (Gas and dust) for zones 1, 2, and 21 and 22, including explosive groups IIC/IIIC with high mechanical hazard risk. Furthermore, the certification can be extended at any time to different markets.
During the development stage of the ExCam IPP1280 thermal camera, special emphasis was placed on safety aspects, as well as mechanical precision and high-quality stainless steel. Additionally, the modular design of the camera housing elements allows for flexible combination of individual parts, such as different flanges, with the enclosure body—without any restrictions on explosion protection.
Explosion-proof thermal cameras can be used for various applications in the electronics, aerospace, mechanical, and chemical industries, completely independent of lighting conditions. In security services, the thermal camera can optimally complement a visual camera.
ExCam IPP1280 provides reliable detection at any time of the day or night. It even sees in total darkness! It is ideal for monitoring large surface areas since it does not monitor temperature at a single point but over the entire recording area. The camera immediately detects temperature rises. Even moving and hard-to-reach objects are not a problem for the ExCam IPP1280. It can detect people and vehicles without violating privacy. It reduces false alarms. The permissible ambient temperature range for the ExCam IPP1280 starts from -30°C and rises to +60°C.
With dimensions of 127 mm in length and only 47 mm in diameter, the optical module of the ExCam IPP1280 camera is so small that it can be mounted anywhere. Thanks to the microbolometer, the ExCam IPP1280 can deliver thermal images of moving objects.

Thanks to high-quality materials, the T07 series is resistant to many media. The specially designed GYLON (PTFE) flat seal not only ensures the waterproofness of the enclosure (IP68) but also supports resistance to many chemicals. The extremely durable, scratch-resistant, and impact-resistant germanium glass fits perfectly with the high-quality materials of the enclosure body.
ExCam IPQ1280 thermal camera has a microSD / microSDHC card slot with a capacity of up to 64 GB (the card is not included), allowing each camera to have an integrated recording device. Additionally, the camera supports active streaming to a central network catalog (network storage or file server). The ExCam IPP1280 thermal camera for EX zones stores data independently, without external computer control.
The IP-based network video surveillance system offers many advantages and special features:
• Remote access
• High image quality
• Event management and intelligent video
• Easy, secure, and durable integration
• Scalability and flexibility
• Cost-effectiveness
Access to network cameras and video encoders can be obtained and configured remotely, allowing many authorized users to view live video footage at any time and from any network location worldwide. This is an advantage when you want to grant users from other companies, such as a security firm, access to video footage.
Intelligent Camera - thanks to various intelligent analytical functions
Often, excessive amounts of video data are recorded, and there isn't enough time to properly analyze them. Advanced network cameras and video encoders with integrated intelligence or analytical functions solve this problem by reducing irrelevant video footage and initiating pre-programmed actions. Such functions are not available for analog systems. The ExCam IPP1280 camera offers integrated features such as motion detection, active anti-sabotage protection, and event and alarm management functions. Thanks to these features, network cameras and video encoders can continuously analyze input data to detect events and respond automatically – for example, by starting video recording and sending alarm notifications. Event management features can be set via the user interface or network video software. Users can define alarms or events using the trigger used and specify the period during which the event should be active. Additionally, actions can be configured (e.g., recording one or more locations, locally and/or at remote locations, activating external devices such as sirens, lights, and door-opening mechanisms, sending notifications to users).
Network-based monitoring products based on open standards can be easily integrated with video management and application software.
The network surveillance system can grow with the user's needs. For IP-based systems, the same wired or wireless network can be used for data exchange through multiple network cameras and video encoders, as well as other types of applications.
Therefore, a variable number of products from the networked video surveillance systems range can be added to the system without requiring extensive or costly changes to the network infrastructure. This is not possible with analog systems. In an analog video system, the specially designated coaxial cable must be connected directly from each camera to the display/recording station. In contrast, products from the network-based surveillance system can be virtually placed anywhere and connected to any network. They can be open or tightly secured.
IP surveillance systems typically have lower overall operational costs than conventional analog CCTV systems. In most cases, the existing IP network infrastructure is already in place, making it easy to integrate the video application into the existing infrastructure. Wired or wireless network solutions are also much cheaper than coaxial and fiber-optic solutions for analog CCTV systems. Administrative and hardware costs are lower for storage applications as it is very easily accessible.
A special feature of the ExCam IPP1280 EX zone thermal cameras is that data and power are transmitted using a single cable, meaning that only a PoE switch or PoE-Midspan is required for installation in a safe area.
