In the category of industrial inverters and converters, we're offering an extensive assortment of Premium inverters.
What is an inverter used for?
An inverter, also called converter, is a power electronic device used for processing currents and voltages DC/AC. Inverters are applied in power supply of electric drives (ASD), flexible systems of transferring energy (FACTS), static passive power compensators (SVC), active filters (AF), and UPS.
Photovoltaic inverter is an essential component of a photovoltaic system – designed as a box in different sizes, converts the variable direct current (DC voltage) output of a photovoltaic solar panel into a utility frequency alternating current (AC voltage), so it can be used in the outlets. Choosing the right inverter increases the efficiency of panels, however, the incorrect one can cause system failure.
Types of inverters:
Off-grid system - not connected to the electricity grid, thus requires battery storage. The high cost of batteries means off-grid systems are still quite expensive, so they are usually suitable for more remote areas, far from the electricity grid.
On-grid system - most common and widely used by homes and businesses. This system does not need batteries. It uses solar inverters or micro-inverters and is connected to the public electricity grid. Excess solar power is exported to the electricity grid.
Hybrid system - combines solar and battery storage in one. Enables storing solar energy that is generated during the day and using it at night.
We can also differentiate two other types:
Single phase inverter – used mainly in small systems up to 3 kW.
Triple phase inverter – used in more powerful photovoltaic systems.
